1You can lose everything

Token prices can fall to zero within minutes. Launching, buying, selling or holding a token can lose some or all of the money you put in, and the money of any client you act for. Only use funds you can afford to lose.

2Volatility and liquidity

  • New tokens trade in thin markets. A single large sale can move the price sharply.
  • Slippage can make a trade fill far from the price you saw. A slippage limit can stop a trade from filling at all.
  • Liquidity can be withdrawn, locked or drained, leaving a token you can't sell.

3Smart contracts and launchpads

  • Launchpads, DEXs and token contracts are code written by third parties. Bugs or exploits can lose funds.
  • Launchpads can change their rules, fees or bonding curves, pause, or shut down.
  • Bundled launches depend on block builders such as Jito and 48 Club. A bundle can fail, land partly, or land later than planned.

4Transactions can't be undone

Once a transaction is confirmed on-chain it is final. Orbook can't reverse a launch, trade, transfer or withdrawal, including one sent by mistake or by another member of your organization.

5Automated strategies

  • Counter Trade, DCA, Limit Order and Snipe strategies trade on their own once started. They can lose money in fast markets.
  • A strategy acts on the data it receives. Late or wrong price data, or a network outage, can make it trade at a bad price or not at all.
  • Check a strategy's limits before you start it, and stop it when conditions change.

6Keys and custody

  • Orbook holds the keys of wallets created in it, encrypted. A breach of your account lets someone act with your role.
  • Anyone in your organization whose role allows it can trade, move treasury funds or export keys.
  • An exported key is outside Orbook's protection from then on.

7Bundling, supply control and generated activity

Holding much of a token's supply across many wallets, bundling first buys, or generating trading activity can be seen by others on-chain and may be treated as market manipulation in some places. Read the Acceptable Use Policy and check the law where you and your buyers are.

8Regulation and tax

Rules for tokens, trading and market making differ by country and change often. A token or activity that is allowed today may not be tomorrow. You are responsible for your own legal and tax obligations.

9Networks and providers

Chains congest, RPC providers fail, bridges and funding services pause. Any of these can delay or stop a launch or trade at the worst moment.

10No advice

Nothing in Orbook (figures, insights, P&L, templates or presets) is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. The app asks you to acknowledge risk notices before some actions; Owners and Admins can see who acknowledged each one in Settings.
